- Fox hunting
- The Sennybridge Farmers' Hunt is based in Sennybridge & Defynnog.
- This pack of foxhounds is hunted within a radius of about 15 km of the village. 'Welsh' foxhounds have a shaggy coat, unlike their counterparts of the English lowlands.
- Despite laws banning hunting with dogs, hounds are regularly released in this area to 'control fox numbers'. There have been no prosecutions here.
- 'Lamping' Some people here search at night with powerful lamps and search lights for wild animals to shoot. Hare coursing and digging up badger setts also takes place but less often. Police ask local people to be vigilant to try to prevent these illegal activites.
